Professor Lucio Tremolizzo, specialist in Neurology (2008) and with a PhD in Neuroscience (2003), carries out his clinical activity at the IRCCS “San Gerardo dei Tintori” in Monza, and specifically at the UVA (Memory Disorders Unit) and ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) outpatient clinics belonging to the Neurology Clinic. Simultaneously, he coordinates the research of the Neurobiology Laboratory at the University of Milano-Bicocca.

From 2001 to 2003, Professor Tremolizzo was a research associate at the University of Illinois at Chicago (USA). In the period 2005-2006, he was an honorary research assistant at University College London (UK), attending the “Queen Square” Institute of Neurology and passing the exam to obtain a PGDip in Clinical Neurology (2006). He also obtained a Level II Master’s degree in Cerebrovascular Diseases (2010) from UNIMIB (University of Milano-Bicocca).

SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS

Professor Tremolizzo’s scientific interests are related to dementias and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), with a particular focus on biomarkers and the biological mechanisms of behavioral disorders.

Since 2024, he has been the national coordinator of the European-level project: “AGAINST AD 2 – AddressinG brAIN choleSterol meTabolism in Alzheimer’s Disease to identify novel disease biomarkers (PNRR-MCNT2-2023-12377968)”.
