BIOSKETCH

Andrea E. Cavanna, MD PhD FRCP FANPA SFHEA, is Consultant in Behavioural Neurology at the Department of Neuropsychiatry, National Centre for Mental Health, and Associate Professor in Neuropsychiatry at University of Birmingham (United Kingdom) and University of Milano-Bicocca, Milan (Italy). He received his MBChB and MD from the University of Turin (Italy), completed his specialty training in Neurology at Amedeo Avogadro University, Novara (Italy) and was awarded his PhD in Neurological Studies from University College London. He is Lead Consultant for the specialist Tourette syndrome clinic at the Department of Neuropsychiatry, Birmingham, and Deputy Director of the MSc in Clinical Neuropsychiatry, University of Birmingham.

MAIN SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

He has published over 250 papers in the fields of behavioural neurology and neuropsychiatry, with focus on the behavioural aspects of movement disorders and epilepsy (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=cavanna+ae&sort=date). In 2010 he received the American Neuropsychiatric Association Career Development Award.
