CURRICULUM
Born on 13th May 1991, I obtained my bachelor degree in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology in 2013 and after the Master degree in Neurobiology in 2015 (University of Pavia). Then I worked as a fellowship holder in Neuropsychopharmacology headed by Professor Flavia Valtorta (San Raffaele Hospital, Milan) where I performed in vivo electrophysiological recordings on murine model. From November 2016 I am Neuroscience PhD student (University Milan Bicocca) at Physiology Laboratory headed by Giulio Alfredo Sancini where my principal aim is to assess ex vivo and in vivo neurophysiological studies using electrophysiological and imaging techniques to evaluate nanoparticle action and their interaction with central nervous system (CNS) elements.
RESEARCH PROJECT
Neurophysiological studies to evaluate clinical potential of brain targeted nanoparticles
- Track: Neuroscienze Sperimentali
- Tutor: Giulio Sancini
Ex vivo and in vivo neurophysiological studies will be perform to evaluate nanoparticle (NPs) action and their interaction with central nervous system (CNS) elements. We will evaluate their possible effects on neuronal response (both evoked and spontaneous) and synaptic transmission studying neurons and their networks interaction in particular in cortex and hippocampus. The effect of NPs on neuronal side will be tested and we will assess if they have a role in modulating neurotransmitter release. We will further evaluate both ex vivo and in vivo, if NPs can modulate the synaptic plasticity.
