Admission

The Doctoral courses begin each year on November 1st. Admission is based on a public selection to be completed by September 30th and officially announced on the Doctoral School website, tipically in April-May. Applicants to the program must hold a master degree equivalent to the Italian “Laurea magistrale/specialistica” and the assessment will be in charge of the examining Commission.

Admission Procedure

Candidates must register using the online system provided by University of Milano-Bicocca by the deadline that is one month after the call publication. Applicants must submit with their application a proof of their degree with their final score, their publications list and a summary of the research project they propose to conduct in the PhD period.

Selection will be based on assessment of qualifications and publications and oral examination (videoconference). During the oral examination the research project uploaded by the candidate during registration (uploading is mandatory) shall be discussed in order to assess the candidate’s previous expertises, research skills and motivations, as well as her/his interest in the PhD program.

The project

Applicants when registering for the admission test must upload the summary of an original research project they propose to conduct during the three-year doctoral program. The project must be written in english and should not exceed 1000 words (references excluded) and should be structured into 1) background, 2) aims, 3) methods, 4) expected outcomes, 5) references. Upon admission, the submitted poject is not binding and a different poject can be assigned by the faculty.
